I have been operating Distance Learning courses successfully for nearly twenty years, and more recently Online Learning courses. During that time participants globally have successfully completed the course.
WHAT DO YOU RECEIVE FOR THE COURSE
This course includes six modules, all with comprehensive information, examples to follow and assignments. The modules can be collated at the completion of the course to form a book ‘The Art of Travel Sketching with Pen & Wash’. A book cover and contents page is supplied and this book will be a permanent research and revision book for your library. You will learn everything you need to know about sketching, techniques, colour, composition and much more.

Why Online Learning?
Due to your location, current employment or study, health issues, time or commitment factors you may not be able to attend regular classes, workshops or courses. All correspondence, modules, assignments and critiques are sent and received by email, which are immediate.
What advantages does Online Learning offer? I there a time limit?
You work at your own pace from the comfort of home. There is a 12 month completion period, but no time restrictions on individual assignments.
All skills levels are catered for from the absolute beginner to the experienced artist who would like to learn new skills. You also receive a detailed assessment of your assignments, offering comments, advice and suggestions. Much more individual attention is given than if attending classes or workshops.
Do I need previous experience?
No previous knowledge is required or assumed. You will learn everything you need to know about using pen and watercolour wash; from paper, materials and drawing techniques, mixing colours, composition, tone, shadows, working on location and much more. Each Module will focus on a different topic. You will learn about perspective, solidity and three-dimensionality.
Is the course expensive?
It is considerably less expensive to do the Online Learning Course than attending classes or workshops. You receive one-on-one tuition and a detailed critique with suggestions and comments for each assignment. The cost is AUD395.00.
What feedback do I receive?
Every assignment is individually critiqued, and comments, advice and suggestions are given. This enables you to move forward with confidence on the following assignments, and increases your learning abilities to apply to other sketches.
Do I need a computer?
The online options enables you to scan or photograph your assignments and email them to me for a detailed critique. You can even photograph them with your mobile phone and submit them by SMS. The critique will be emailed to you, along with your next assignment.
There is a Distance Learning option where the modules and assignments are sent by post. This is more expensive for you, and the mail can be slow at times. The Modules for both online and distance learning are the same. This method works very well if you do not have access to a computer.
How many modules are there?
There are six modules, each containing detailed information on the relevant subject. There are also step by step demonstrations to follow. On completion, the course notes can be collated to form a book ‘Travel Sketching with Pen & Wash’ . This will be a permanent research and revision book for your library. The contents are structured and comprehensive and it is the only course of its type globally, with much more indepth information than you would find in other Pen & Wash or Sketching books.
How do I enrol and pay?
A registration form is sent on request. Payment is made my Direct Debit into my account.
Do I receive a certificate?
On completion you will receive a Certificate of Merit.
