Savusavu is one of Fiji’s best kept secrets. It is nestled between the calm waters of the bay and the thick, lush vegetation of the mountains in the unspoiled paradise of Vanua Levu, the second largest island in Fiji. It offers an idyllic environment for travel sketching from some amazing locations. From the beach to the mountains, to Savusavu Bay where the sailing ships arrive from all over the world, to the local beaches.
The resort is set in beautiful tropical gardens overlooking the bay which is directly across the road. There is an abundance of sketching opportunities within the resort, including the traditional bures, the mountains, the sunset over the bay, tropical flowers and much more. There is sketching each day with demonstrations, individual tuition and reviews from renowned artist Leonie Norton, who has been going to Fiji since 2007 with sketching tours. We will be visiting the town of Savusavu, a short 10 minutes drive away, where you will experience the Fijian way of life which has not changed there for generations. There is the opportunity to swim, snorkel, visit waterfalls high in the mountains, just relax and much more. Excursions are included.
